Relocating to Boca Raton

Moving to Boca Raton

Boca Raton is one of Florida's many exciting, family-oriented, fast-growing cities. If you are considering a relocation, Boca Raton has pretty much everything for which you are looking. We want to share some of the high points of our home base.

Our fair city is the home of Florida Atlantic University. FAU is a research university, offers 170 graduate and undergraduate degrees, and continues to evolve into one of Florida's best universities.

Lynn University, also in Boca Raton, is a private institution that helps students think critically, communicate effectively, and solve problems creatively.

Moving to Boca Raton?

One of the three public beaches in Boca Raton is the South Beach Park, an excellent location for swimming, picnicking, grilling, camping, hiking, and surf fishing. This gorgeous beachfront will take your breath away.

Add to that Red Reef Park with a boardwalk, access to the ocean, and snorkeling activities, and Spanish River Park, not a beachfront, but a waterfront development. At Spanish River, families can camp, picnic, access the Atlantic Ocean, fish, hike, observe a wide variety of birds, and enjoy nature. Lifeguards are on duty year 'round.

Events and Activities in Boca Raton

Events and Activities in Boca Raton

Boca Raton is all about fun. There is always something going on and adventures to join. Every holiday has a local parade or festival. The Mizner Park Amphitheater hosts bands, musicians, pep rallies, plays, picnics, art activities, and more.

At Sugar Sand Park, the kids can practice their sports on baseball and softball fields; their hockey moves on a hockey rink, and their basketball skills at an inside gymnasium. The Community Center, located on the same property, offers classes, programs, parties, and other enrichment opportunities.

Patch Reef Park shares with the community a Winter Fair, a Spring Fair, a Jungle Reef Riverboat Cruise, a Wildlife Sanctuary, Flamingo Gardens, tennis courts, parties, and flea markets.

Visiting the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center cannot be missed. At the center, folks can adopt a sea turtle, learn about science topics, and wade in the Intercoastal Waterway to catch (and release) shrimp, fish, crabs, and more. Interested individuals can also kayak on the Waterway.

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is "dedicated to excellence in all its endeavors, through its collections, exhibitions, and educational opportunities." Events, such as business gatherings, receptions, meetings, dinners, and lectures take place in the museum's auditorium, along with presentations or panel discussions. The outdoor sculpture garden is just right for luncheons, teas, wedding receptions, or cocktail parties. Art classes and sales take place throughout the year.

Things to Do Around Boca Raton

Boca Raton is close to Two Major Airports

Boca is close to both Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. You can drive from Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale in about 23 minutes. It takes approximately 29 minutes to get to Palm Beach. The proximity of both these towns means you can take advantage of using both their airports.

While in Fort Lauderdale, you may want to take a cruise along the city's riverfront. The locals call the river cruise the Venice of America, and it is true, the tour is that beautiful. You could, additionally, visit the Fort Lauderdale Antique Car Museum, or the Stranahan House Museum, the city's oldest standing structure. While there you can experience the architecture, history, and evolution of the home and its first residents.

Palm Beach County is one of the counties in South Florida that make up the Miami metropolitan area. In 2004, Palm Beach County was, reportedly, Florida's wealthiest county. Real estate development and agriculture make the per capita personal income $44,518 (2004). The houses, history, and natural settings in the county make it a favorite place to visit.
